Even the irrigation system serving the RRBITC got a major upgrade that reduces water usage from 1,000,000 gallons to 350,000 gallons per year and improves water delivery to plants.
Rather than depending on old-fashioned timers, the new system detects soil moisture so each zone knows when water is needed. Application nozzles are designed to deliver water at a low-flow rate while still providing full coverage to the planting zones. This allows the soil to absorb the water rather than creating wasteful runoff.
