High-efficiency Transformers

Did you know that building electrical transformers consume electricity even when the devices they are connected to are not in use? This is known as “no-load” losses. Johnson Controls replaced the building’s 1990s-era transformers with high-efficiency transformers that can reduce these no-load losses by up to 80% – and with 517 transformers being replaced, the savings add up quickly.

Coupling the annual electric bill reduction of $224,000 with the 32-year warranty on the new transformers, the RRBITC will continue to have reliable and efficient electrical distribution well into the future.
